Why Use a Dry Herb Vape?
While we’ll always be down to pack a bowl or rip a bong, vaping weed has been growing in popularity. With the Flare, you can select a temperature between 300-446°F using the arrow buttons. The device then efficiently heats up the contents, producing a flavorful vapor that’s filled with THC and terpenes. Different terpenes release their flavors at different temperatures, so different strains will have their own unique sweet spot for temperature!

What Temperature is Best for Dry Herb Vaping?
The Flare gives a nice, wide range for heating up your herb. Every individual user will have their own preference, which you really won’t know until you experiment with your device a bit. Terpenes in the bud are what produce the unique flavors of each different strain of weed. Vaped weed will taste different than weed smoked out of a pipe no matter what because you’re not using combustion.
The terpene flavors are more pronounced when you choose a lower temperature (in the sub-400 range). The taste might surprise you! Using a low temperature for your vape is the best way to taste the true essence of the cannabis plant and will teach you a lot about how different terpenes taste and make you feel. It never hurts to do a little research on the new strain you brought home before loading it into the vape so you know what you’re getting into! Make a mental note of the strains that taste best, and hunt down new strains with similar dominant terpenes.
While a low temp will give you flavor, it’s not going to produce much visible vapor. Don’t worry, it’ll still get you high! But if you’re looking for more of a visible exhale, turn up the temperature. This roasts the plant matter to a higher level and will produce a more consistent flavor across different strains. The flavor will still be different than a regular bowl, but choosing a temperature around 410°F and above will give you the standard “vaped weed” taste.

How to Use the Ooze Flare Dry Herb Vaporizer
The Flare is so easy to use, even first-time vapers will have no trouble figuring the process out. Like all Ooze electronic devices, the Flare is covered under the Ooze Warranty Program. However, the warranty needs to be activated once it’s in your hands! Here are the steps to setting up your Flare device:
1. Activate the Warranty!
Open the box and pull the tab at the top to reveal the hidden accessories. Locate the authentication card code, scratch off the code section, and pull up the Product Registration Form. Fill it out, and you’re officially active in the system.
2. Open the Device & Pack It with Weed
Pop the mouthpiece cap off to reveal the ceramic chamber. Pack that bowl with ground bud. The perfect grind is not too fine (so all the kief doesn’t turn into sticky resin that’s hard to clean) but still ground up (full nugs won’t heat evenly). Pack it in, but not too tight so you’ll still have airflow to take long, smooth pulls.
3. Replace the Cap & Turn it On
Insert the glass straw mouthpiece into the cap and put the mouthpiece back on. When you feel a click, it’s securely in place. Click the power button 5x to turn the Flare on. It will buzz once with the pulse wave technology to say hello!
4. Select Your Temperature
Use the + and – buttons to select the perfect temp for your smoke sesh. Once you’ve reached the number you want on the screen, wait a few seconds and the device will start heating up. Once the temperature is reached it will buzz once again and the blue indicator light will stay on.
5. Take a Puff and Enjoy!
The Flare is ready to use! Take a puff from the straw mouthpiece. You’ll notice a different taste than what you’re used to from smoking out of bongs and pipes. It’s a more herbal taste with a milder smell. Don’t worry if you don’t see a big cloud when you exhale, the vapor doesn’t produce the same visual effect!
How to Clean Your Flare Vape
Included in your package is a small cleaning brush and a poker tool. We recommend using the brush to scrape out any debris after each session. This will greatly reduce the amount of buildup inside the chamber over time and keep it tasting fresh and pure. You can dip the brush or a cotton swab in rubbing alcohol and wipe the inside of the chamber for a deeper clean.
The poker tool can be used to scrape off stubborn sticky bits, and we also like to use it to improve the airflow mid-session. If it’s getting hard to pull but it seems like there should still be some weed left, use the poker to swirl the packed bud around a little bit. Loosen up the leaves and make way for more airflow inside.
We recommend the Ooze Resolution Spotless Cleaning Kit to give the Flare the works when it comes to a deep clean! Drop the glass straw mouthpiece in the Res Gel pouch, use a cotton swab to clean out the chamber, and use the brush to give everything a scrub.
Bonus: Use the Weed You Vaped to Make Edibles!
You read that correctly, the weed you take out of your Flare after a smoke session is still usable! Not only does vaping make your weed last longer, but you can actually use it twice. Instead of baking bud in the oven and stinking up the house, the vape cooks the bud to “activate” the THC. You can technically just dump it right into your mouth and it’ll do its job getting you nice and toasty.
However, if you’d rather not choke down some gross-tasting, super dry remnants of a plant, you can use a butter maker or the tried-and-true method of infusing butter or coconut oil.
