When the holidays come around, it's almost impossible not to crave the melt-in-your-mouth flavor of a homemade cookie. Especially one that will get you high just in time to open presents. So, how do you make weed cookies you ask? In this blog, we will show you how to make cannabis-infused coconut oil and holiday cannabis cookies that are delicious all year round.
Cannabis Coconut Oil Uses
Coconut oil has tons of health benefits that make it a far better option for cannabis infusion than regular butter. Coconut oil is vegan, great for your skin, and a good source of antioxidants. It has gained a lot of popularity in the cannabis community because of its high fat content.
According to the USDA, each tablespoon of coconut oil has 12 grams of saturated fat, which is 5 grams more than your typical tbsp of butter. This surplus of fatty acids means that coconut oil is able to retain a ton of cannabinoids from your flower during the infusion process.
Plus, coconut oil can be used in tons of different applications. You can use it as a topical for a massage, make it into a lip balm, or even use it as creamer in your coffee.

Ingredients:
- 1/2 cup ground cannabis
- 1/2 cup refined coconut oil
Materials:
- Strainer or cheese cloth
- Grinder
- Double-boiler or slow cooker
Directions:
- Add your nugs into your grinder turn them into a chunky grind consistency. Too fine and it will be hard to strain out at the end.
- Add the coconut oil and cannabis to the double-boiler and heat on LOW for 6 hours.
- This will start decarboxylation, the process of activating the compounds in weed like THC. Keep it under 245°F, or you risk scorching the bud and destroying the active compounds.
- Use a strainer to get all the bud out of your oil.
To store your THC infused oil, keep it in a dark place and/or refrigerate it. As long as you store it in an airtight container, it should last for at least two months!
